Fertility & Hormones
Hormones are a class of signaling molecules that play a large role in the body’s physiological regulation (e.g. digestion, metabolism, sleep, growth and development, and reproduction). They are predominately produced by the endocrine system which is a collection of glands including the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus, gastrointestinal tract and adrenal glands. Hormone levels that are too high or too low indicate a problem with the endocrine system and are linked to a wide range of diseases from diabetes to thyroid cancer and infertility.
