Apolipoprotein A-II (Apo A-II) Apo A-II is the second most abundant protein of HDL particles and plays an important role in reverse cholesterol transport and lipid metabolism. Apo A-II is mainly produced in the liver and modulates lipoprotein lipase and hepatic triglyceride lipase. The Apo A-II test can be used as an aid in assessing the risk of CVD.
